Taizhou, China's Premiere Integrated Photovoltaic & Storage Charging/Discharging Demonstration

Post time: 2024-07-30

The inauguration of Taizhou City's maiden integrated photovoltaic, storage, charging, and discharging demonstration station marks a significant stride forward for Zhejiang Province in the development of new energy vehicle charging infrastructure. This pioneering station not only integrates cutting-edge technology but also embodies the principles of greenness, environmental protection, and efficiency.

Taizhou, China's Premiere Integrated Photovoltaic & Storage Charging/Discharging Demonstration Station

As Zhejiang's first electric vehicle charging station featuring a hybrid AC/DC network integrated with photovoltaic, storage, charging, and discharging capabilities, it boasts a comprehensive range of facilities tailored to meet diverse user needs. The station is equipped with eight cluster charging terminals capable of reaching a maximum of 200kW, 24 small DC terminals, one AC slow charger, a dual-gun 80kW DC charger, a 22kWp photovoltaic canopy, and a 100kWh battery energy storage system utilizing recycled batteries. This setup caters to everything from rapid to slow charging, ensuring seamless charging experiences for all.

Moreover, the station harnesses solar energy to power electric vehicles, realizing the concept of "sustaining charging stations with sunlight." The photovoltaic system converts solar energy into electricity, which is then stored in the energy storage system for later use by the charging points. This model effectively reduces carbon emissions by an estimated 22.43 tons annually while enhancing system efficiency and mitigating peak-to-off-peak load differences.

To ensure the scientific and sustainable development of charging stations, the drafting of the "Technical Requirements for Photovoltaic Power Generation Systems in Integrated Photovoltaic, Storage, Charging, and Testing Stations" group standard is underway. This standard aims to propel the advancement of such integrated stations and enjoys robust policy support from the national government. Amidst the escalating demand for electric vehicle charging, which strains transmission and generation capacities, integrated photovoltaic, storage, charging, and testing stations have emerged as viable solutions, witnessing widespread adoption.

The launch of Taizhou's inaugural integrated photovoltaic, storage, charging, and discharging demonstration station not only elevates the local new energy vehicle charging infrastructure but also serves as a valuable reference for other regions. By adopting advanced technologies and management models, this demonstration station actively contributes to achieving green and low-carbon energy development goals.
