Post time: 2024-07-22

The 40MW Bongo Solar Power Project is a photovoltaic (PV) solar energy venture situated in Ghana's Upper East Region, slated for development in the Asebga area. This ambitious project comprises two pivotal components: firstly, the installation of a 40MW ground-mounted single-axis PV panel solar power station occupying approximately 0.5013 square kilometers of land; secondly, the construction of a roughly 29-kilometer-long 34.5 kV secondary transmission line from the Asebga-based solar power station to the GRIDCo Boquatana Substation located in Boquatana City.

Currently, the project stands at the announcement stage, with construction anticipated to commence in 2024 and commercial operations targeted for 2025. Additionally, the environmental planning report underscores the project's commitment to adhering to relevant legal requirements and norms, with detailed information to be furnished in the primary Environmental and Social Impact Assessment Report.

The investment cost of the 40MW Bongo Solar Project in Ghana's Upper East Region is not officially announced. However, estimates suggest it may range from hundreds of millions to over 100 million RMB, similar to other 40MW projects, considering factors like equipment, installation, land, construction, grid connection, and operational costs.
