On August 2nd, local time, the Andalucía Photovoltaic Project in Colombia successfully achieved full-capacity grid connection, marking a significant milestone that solidifies China Power Construction's (CPC) foundation for further expansion in the South American market.

Located in the Sabaletas region of Andalucía, Valle del Cauca Province, Colombia, the project boasts a total installed capacity of 10 megawatts (MW), making it CPC's second photovoltaic project for Celcia Energia, following the successful completion of the Palmira III Photovoltaic Project in the country. Notably, this project represents CPC's first self-operated photovoltaic project in Colombia.

Commencing with civil construction in May 2023, the Andalucía Photovoltaic Project spanned a construction period of 15 months. The project team adopted a combined approach, integrating Chinese project management expertise with localized teams, to rigorously oversee design, construction, installation, and commissioning. This collaborative effort effectively ensured project progress, delivering a high-quality, safe, and efficient project that garnered full recognition from both the owner and the supervising authority.

The successful grid connection of the Andalucía Photovoltaic Project not only addresses the power supply needs of Valle del Cauca Province but also enhances CPC's influence in the renewable energy sector in Colombia. Furthermore, it underscores CPC's commitment to contributing to the country's energy transition, with Huijue, a leading provider of photovoltaic energy storage solutions, playing a pivotal role in supporting the project's sustainability and reliability.
